Lisa McKeown — Associate
Lisa is an associate in our litigation and dispute resolution team. She joined Johnston Lawrence in 1999 and was admitted to the bar in 2005.
Lisa works in our medical and personal injury practice (particularly focusing on historic abuse claims), and has had extensive experience dealing with mental health clients, clients with disabilities, and abuse victims. She has an interest in privacy law, particularly in the health area.
Lisa handles agency instructions for other civil litigation in the High Court and District Court, including insolvency and debt recovery proceedings, and summary judgment applications.

Favourite NZ destination?
I recently spent a week exploring Great Barrier Island - fantastic beaches, walks, hot springs, kayaking, and what seemed like endless sun!
Satisfying achievements?
I did my first bungy jump last year - and loved it!
What have you learned from JL?
Not all lawyers are ruthless, money-hungry folk who communicate only using legal jargon. The lawyers at JL care about their clients, give straight answers, and are willing to go the extra mile.
Hurricanes to win this year?
As long as they beat the Crusaders, I’ll be happy (because then we won’t have to hear our practice manager gloating...)
