Sharmala David — Special Counsel
Sharmala joined Johnston Lawrence in 2009 following a number of years in sole private practice in Wellington and previously as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Tower Life and Managed Funds New Zealand. She was also a senior solicitor at an Auckland firm.
As a Special Counsel at Johnston Lawrence she has a special interest in distribution, franchising, managed funds, superannuation, technology, compliance and corporate governance.
Sharmala has acted for many international and national franchises and franchisees and worked extensively in the offer of securities, managed funds and superannuation schemes and in the training and compliance law reform of financial advisers and issuers.
